| Yeah, everything seemed to work. I left out a main part of the update, which involved statistical information. Ah well, I'll just reuse it in the next one against Brisbane. | |

| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Season Cup Final: Brisbane Roar v. Chelsea Football Club - 2011 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brisbane: (4-3-3) GK – Michael Theoklitos RB - Ivan Franjic CB – Sayed Mohamed Adnan CB - Matt Smith LB - Shane Stefanutto CDM - Erik Paartalu RCM - Mitch Nichols LCM - Massimo Murdocca RW – Henrique ST – Besart Berisha LW – Thomas Broich Chelsea: (4-1-2-1-2) GK – Petr Čech RB – José Bosingwa CB – John Terry © CB – Branislav Ivanović LB – Ashley Cole CDM – Michael Essien LM – Juan Mata RM – Raul Meireles CAM - Frank Lampard FW – Daniel Sturridge FW – Didier Drogba First HalfDidier Drogba opened the scoring in Australia after a fairly open 18 minutes. An interchange of passes between England’s Frank Lampard and Spain’s Juan Mata after dispossessing Murdocca in the middle of the pitch lead to a clear pass to the unmarked African who held his nerve to slot the ball past Theoklitos. Brisbane almost equalised in the 27th minute when a well-timed cross from the left flank found Henrique who then smashed a volley wide of the far post. Afterwards, Chelsea spent the rest of the time remaining in the first half to find a goal that’d hopefully kill off the opponents. Unfortunately for Andre Villas-Boas’ men the second goal came from the home side thanks to a well worked corner by Broich which found Sayed Mohamed Adnan. Second HalfBrisbane’s late equaliser in the second half proved vital as the game restarted, Chelsea who dominated an Australia side the day before were hoping to do the same here. Chelsea had numerous amounts of opportunities to get a goal, most notably being Raul Meireles’ open goal chance. But obviously in football you can never write a side off, regardless as their stature as Brisbane had a penalty awarded in the 78th minute. Berisha stepped up, and sent Petr Čech the wrong way. The momentum was now with the home side, the atmosphere was epic, and Chelsea was pushing on for a late equaliser. Salomon Kalou was introduced in place of Daniel Sturridge, making his near 150th appearance for the club. It didn’t take long for the Ivorian to make a huge impact in the game, providing a magical cross for the waited Didier Drogba at the back post to score into an empty net. The game was level, and the clock was ticking away. Not much happened after Chelsea’s second goal, with both teams sitting back and hoping for the best in the penalty shootout. It’s more than noticeable that Chelsea’s penalty record isn’t the greatest, so the next couple of minutes mightn't be great for the blues. Penalty Shoot-outBroich Didier Drogba 1-1. Henrique Fernando Torres 1-2. Berisha Frank Lampard 1-3. Nichols 1-3. *Chelsea win 1-1 (3-1) against Brisbane Roar.* ------ Andre Villas-Boas’ Comment: “It wasn’t what we were expecting today from the opposition in terms of performance; they came out and played at their best. It was a hard fought victory for us today, and this’ll only help our chances for the league.” Man of the match:Didier Drogba Goals 2 (3) Assists 0 Tackles Won 7 Pass Success (%) 91% Match Rating 9.60

+1 +2 from Mike +3 From Neal! He didn't cause me any problems. PS: On EA, I received permission from a certain member to use his recreated footer. That'll be the only graphic in my updates as I said in the beginning of my thread, along with a matching header. - These will only be used in important updates, reflecting in match results or something major. | |

Paartalu must have had an off night or something It was a completely different match from the one against Mariners, although we still dominated huge areas of the pitch. Thankfully. Most likely, I thought he was fairly overrated. | |

| I'm sowwy. I love how we're having three different discussions, in three different threads. I'd post again in the criticism one but I don't want to completely derail the thread. | |
