September was a great month for Elche as they got 10 out of 12 possible points in the league and qualified to the next round of the Copa Del Rey. Alex, Kike Mateo, Bille Nielsen, and Martinez scored their first goals of the season in an unbeaten month for Elche.
First of, they faced recently relegated club Almeria at home. The fans cheered the team in Guti's first home game as Alex put Elche ahead 13 minutes in. It was Alex's first goal of the season, and it ended up being enough for Elche to win in Martinez's and Fuentes's debut. Elche 1(Alex 13') Almeria 0.
After the win against Almeria, Elche's Copa Del Rey campaign got underway as they played away to Las Palmas. Javi Garrido put the home side ahead 19 minutes in through a penalty before Bille Nielsen tied right before half time. The game went to extra time, in which Elche got put down to 10 men after another penalty was called. Javi Garrido scored from the spot again for Las Palmas 6 minutes from time, but substitute Linares tied the game in the 119th minute. Elche then traveled to Catalunia as they visted Barcelona B. The Barca youngsters only had 1 point from the first 2 games, and luck was not on their side this time. Kike Mateo scored his first goal of the season in the 41st minute after a great Elche attack was headed in. Elche dropped points at home when they face Cartegena after what was a horrible game for Guti's men. Cartagena dominated the first half, and Nauzet put them ahead in the end of the first half through a penalty kick that Elche's goalkeeper couldn't stop. However, Linares was once more the answer from the bench as he scored the goal to level the score up 8 minutes from time and mantain Elche's unbeaten start to the season. The month ended with a visit to fellow promotion hopefulls Girona in what was the best game of September in Liga Adelante. Kike Mateo continued his incredible form as he put Elche ahead 6 minutes in. In the 23rd minute, Jackson Martnez scored his first goal since joining from Chiapas to put his side 2-0 up with a well taken penalty kick. However, in the second half, Saizar was able to put the game 2-1 after beating Christensen to the ball. Martinez put Elche 2 goals clear again in the 57th minute after taking advanteg of a rebound left by the Girona keeper from an Alex Fernadez long range shot. Jota would close the gap again in the 74th minute with a good goal. The last 15 minutes were full of suspense as Girona went for another goal while elche tried to keep their lead. Pellagrin, Elche's starting center back, saved a goal in the line after a corner kick had been headed by Saizar in the 88th minute. Elche's first game in October will be against Alcorcon as they will try to continue the great form they had in September.

Following the great form they had in September, it would be a dissapointing month for Elche as they only won 2 of their 5 games in the month. This month's top performer was Jackson Martinez, who scored 3 goals, followed up be Alex who scored 2. Matecon, Recio and Bangoura scored their first goals of the season, and Elche mantained their play-off status.
The first game was against Real Madrid villains Alcorcon. Guti was ready to make them pay as his side came of with the win. An Alex shot from outside the penalty area in the 9th minute was enough for Elche to take the 3 points against a side that was unable to cause trouble to Elche goalkeeper Juan Carlos. Elche 1 (Alex 9') Alcorcon 0.
The second game in October was against weak rivals Alcayona. Being a derby, the Alcoyano fans pushed their team to a surprise win over Guti's men as Elche lost their unbeaten start to the season. The goal by Gato in the 58th minute and multiple saves from the Alcoyano goalkeeper mad the upset possible in a night Elche fans will want to forget. Alcoyano 1 (Gato 58') Elche 0
Elche then travelled to face Hercules in a top of the table game. An incredible first half from Hercules put them 2-0 ahead after Aganzo made the Elche defense pay for 2 mistakes. The second half didn't start well for Elche as De Lucas made the game 3-0 with 35 minutes remaining. However, an inspiring Martinez scored the consolation goal in the 66th minute and a injury time goal from Bangoura put Elche close to achieve the miracle turn around. Elche then faced another promtion hopefull team as they played hosts to Deportivo. An ealrly goal by an in form Alex Fernades gave Elche all 3 points as they ended their 2 game losing streak with a great display of how to defend. Elche 1 (Alex 5') Deportivo 0
Destiny made Elche face Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey as Guti came back to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium for the first time since he left for Beskitas almost a year ago. Elche played with a 5-4-1 formation with the clear objective of stopping Real Madrid's attack and scoring with a lucky counter attack. Elche were able to prevent los Blancos from scoring in the first 45 minutes, but in stoppage time Altintop put the ball in the back of the net after showing his dribbleing skills. The second half saw Linares scoring with a header from Elche's only corner of the game. Knowing that they needed to win, Jose Mourinho put in Cristiano Ronaldo for Altintop, and the Portuguese forward himself would score the winner 2 minutes from time. Elche will have a tough task ahead of them if they are to qualify to the next round of the Copa Del Rey when they play hosts to them in a couple of weeks. The last game of the month was away to Xerez. The home team got ahead early in the game as Jose Mari scored his 6th goal of the season 12 minutes in. After that, however, the game was all Elche as they showed why they are fighting for promotion this season. Captain Mantecon stoll the ball from a defender and got by 2 more before putting the ball in for his first goal of the season. Recio would score his first goal too after a clearence landed on his feet and a right foot strike ended in the back of the net. The second half was a show for Elche and Jackson Martinez in particular. 3 minutes after the break, the Colombian striker scored a beutifull goal after an Alex through pass left him 1v1 with the goalkeeper. Then, in the 66th minute, he scored his second goal from header after Kike Mateo had crossed the ball in. A good way to finish a troubled month as Elche mantain their play-off status. Elche have 20 points out of 30 possible, in 5th place, and are 8 points behind league leaders Valladolid. They are 4 points away from the last direct promotion spot wich is currently owned by Hercules who have 4 points more than Guti's players. We hope Elche can have a great month in November as they look to mantain the Play-off spot and fight for a top-2 spot.

But I will continue to do it cause it doesn't take much time/effort to just copy and paste it before posting it. And, if this gets popular again(Around Christams we advertise a little) all the updates will be here. But might stop if EA becomes alive again.
