Well, Guti didn't take long in making an impact as the man in charge at Elche CF as he made his first signing of the window just 5 days after signing his contract. The signing was Real Madrid youngster Alex Fernadez who joins the club on a season loan deal. Alex, a creative midfielder himself, is being compared to his new coach, Guti. The Spanish midfielder who made his debut in La Liga last season was excited about the opportunity that Elche was giving him.
Alex Fernadez
"I am happy to be here. Segunda is better than Segunda B and it should help me as a transition to Primera. I will try my hardest game after game as I want to see elche in Primera next season. "
Guti was also happy with Alex joining the club and said
"A great signing. Alex has great vision, can make pinpoint passing, and is good at shooting from a distance. I thank Real Madrid for being so coperative in the negotiations and can't wait to see him lead the club this season.
Well, Guti's reign as Elche manager has started, and it seems it could be a positive one."

Two days after Guti had made his first signing as a Manager, the second signing came in the form of Malaga youngster Recio. The 20 year old midfielder can play in attacking and defending positions in the center of midfield and will play in Elche on a 1 season loan. The Elche fans were excited as they now have 2 promising youngsters between their ranks with Alex Fernadez joining them earlier this week. Recio will have number 13 in the back of his kit while Alex will wear 32. Guti couldn't keep his excitement on making another signing of another promising player during the press conference.

"It's great to have him here. He will probably play most games in the defensive midfielder position, but is versatile enough to play a few games in the attcaking portion of midfield. I expect a lot from him, and hopefully he can deliver."
Recio himself explained to the press why he accepted the loan to Elche

"I love Malaga and wish to be succesful there. But right now, I need to play games in order to improve, and in Malaga I wouldn't have too many games this season. I hope I can impress them by having a great season here and hopefully leading the club back to Primera"
